Pinhole Tester
The pin hole test for aluminum foils is a quality control method used to identify very small perforations (normally invisible to naked eye) that could compromise the foil’s barrier properties. These tiny holes can allow moisture, oxygen, or contaminants to penetrate, affecting the shelf life and integrity of packaged products.

Suitable to detect (visually) pin hole defects in Aluminum Foils used in Food and Pharmaceutical packaging.
(Can be used for Opaque Materials only).
Technical Specifications :
- Table Top, Compact Model.
- High Intensity, Diffused Light Source.
- Tempered Glass on top of light source.
- Blackout Hood to prevent room ambient light from falling on the Foil Surface. So you can test even with the room lights ON.
- Inspection Area : 10 x 10 inches (± 0.5 inch)
- Integrated, Digital Event Counter (pinhole counter)
- LCD Display
- Inbuilt lithium battery, having an expected life span of over 5 years.
- Manual Count switch to keep track of pinhole count.
- ON/OFF switch for light source.
Operating Procedure :
- Flip up (open) the blackout hood.
- Place the film / foil on the glass top.
- Flip down (close) the blackout hood.
- Press the RESET switch for the Digital Event Counter.
- Switch on the Power button.
- The Hi-Intensity light source inside the chamber will glow.
- View the foil surface from Peep Hole / Viewing Window on top of the blackout hood.
- Count the number of visible pinholes (You will see light coming out of the pinholes).
- For every pinhole, press the COUNT button once.
- This will increase the counts on the Digital Counter.
- Open hood to circle the pinholes, if further analysis is required.
- Slide the film again and repeat the pinhole counting for length equivalent to 1 square meter or 1550 square inch. E.g. if the foil width is 6 inches, the length of testing should be 258.34 inches. If the foil width is 8 inches, the length should be 193.75.
- You can also test up to your own desired length / area format.
- Report as No. of Pin Holes per Square Meter area. Some people also report the Pin Holes as Numbers per Meter of running length.

Product Warranty
Unless otherwise specified in the description, all products and accessories (excluding consumables and spares) manufactured / sold by us are covered under a standard 12 month warranty period.
The warranty is "Ex-Factory" or "Back-to-Bench", meaning the product or defective part will have to be sent back to us for repair or replacement. To and Fro Freight / Courier charges are to be borne by the buyer. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects and not misuse or any other damages.
