Ink Rub Tester / Sutherland Rub Tester (Linear Type)    QXT Series

The Ink Rub Tester or Sutherland Rub Tester is used to evaluate Abrasion Resistance of printed substrates.

Abrasion resistance is a desirable and sometimes critical property of printed materials. Abrasion damage can occur during shipment, storage, handling and end-use. The result is a significant decrease in product appearance and legibility of product information. The amount of abrasion damage to a printed surface is dependent on shipping, handling, temperature and humidity conditions, storage time and many other variables.

This equipment is meant for flexible as well as semi-rigid substrates like Plastic Films / Laminates / Paper Board / Duplex Board / Aluminum Foils, etc.

Principle :

In this machine, 2 samples of the same (or different) substrates are rubbed against each other in the same plane (in linear direction), under a fixed pressure (user-settable) and at a fixed speed (user-settable).

Method of rubbing :         Linear Rub (Left-Right Motion)

1. Large (Lower) Sample Marking Template (MOC : Stainless Steel)
2. Small (Upper) Sample Marking Template (MOC : Stainless Steel)
3. Spring clips, to hold lower sample to the base of the equipment.
4. Extra foam pads to be attached to the base weight.
